A political portrait of Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaite
Published in: The Problems of National Security, № 4 (25) 2014
The article analyses the main trends of Lithuanian foreign policy under President Dalia Grybauskaite. It focuses on the contradictory and inconsistent efforts of the Lithuanian president in shaping the so-called "new foreign policy", which is based on a multi-vector principle and departs from the unreserved focus on Washington. A comprehensive assessment of the Republic of Lithuania’s relations with leading partners in the EU / NATO is offered, together with an analysis of diplomatic activity in the East (Ukraine, Belarus and Russia) in the period from 2009 to 2014.
